Why African young people should be empowered to build African Solutions.

A
view of an African Technologist.
Africa is the youngest and fastest-growing continent
in the world. By 2030, there will be 375 million young people in the job market
in Africa. Within a few decades, this demographic boom will push Africa’s
workforce to more than a billion people, the largest in the world.
Let’s face it, the growing population will bring new
challenges and new opportunities.
A pan – African like me will not inhabit in the current or future challenges, I
will focus on the opportunities and I hope this article enthuses the reader to ruminate
in the same direction like the writer.
Forces of 21st century demand will require
all of us to grow into ground-breaking thinkers who creatively put working solutions
that are innovated and fashioned in Africa on board. Self-belief! Self-belief! This is the most important character in
this day and age especially for a young African who wants to go all the way and
shine. Remember this; you can have all
the tactics in the world, but that essence of self-belief, that’s critical.
True innovation is intertwined with good governance.
According to Mo Ibrahim foundation, “Progress
had already been slowing down since 2015. However, over the decade, overall
governance performance has slightly progressed, and in 2019, 61.2% of Africa’s
population lived in a country where Overall Governance is better than in 2010.”
Although, this should get better it is still good news.
Many African youths are living in countries that are
divided, something we unapologetically disagree with. The good news is we can
be proactive and understand what we can work with the tools we have to build
the Africa we want one step at a time over and over and over again until we
overwhelm the status quo to accept innovative change not as an option but as
the only choice.
The more we commit to building a brand new African milieu
the more we win and the most central thing is to keep winning as a continent because
only then can we keep shining together and achieve global influence as an
economic power while relishing all the recompenses that automatically come into
the open.
Remember this is our time and nothing should delude
you from trying to be the best version of yourself while helping Africa thrive.
